RECREATION OF A PERIOD OFFICE

This chamber was
originally addressed to the polished and re-polished department. The space has
been recycled to recreate the way the factory offices looked like back in the
days, when they were located in the upper floor (which is currently closed).
The place keeps its original floor and the old stone benches from the machines.
On top of these, a worktop was built and we designed a handcrafted chimney
using some of the traditional materials. The open fire place was the only heat
source available in those years.
In this room we can gaze at the peculiar
office equipment of office: the roller press, as well as some of the
handwritten books of accountants, mercantile, workers attendance records, and
so on. All of these elaborated on ink pen writing, and which are now part of
the Archivo Histórico de las Fábricas de
Riópar (Historical File of the Factories of Riópar). The beautiful safe-box
which dates back from the 19th century is especially standing out amongst the
antique furniture from the factory.
